The mixing process of the Two Roll Mill is divided into three phrase: rolling, powder feeding and refining.

The Process of operation

Put raw rubber material or plastic compound, master batch, etc. into the two roll gaps of the two roll mill along the side of the large cone, the roll distance should be controlled at 3-4 mm,rolling for 3-4 minutes, so that it is wrapped in the front roll to form a smooth rubber material around the roller.Then the gap-free roll rubber is taken away at this time,and the roll distance should be adjusted to 10-11 mm,putting he glue into the roller smelting for about 1 minute. According to the amount of the roll rubber, the part of the residual glue is cut, so that the end of the roll rubber maintains a certain amount of accumulated glue.

Then the mill is added to the compounding agent in the order of the ingredients, and the compounding agent is rolled into the rubber. This process is a powder feeding process. When adding the filler,operators should pay attention to allowing the powder to naturally enter the rubber and mix well with the rubber. Do not take the knife too early. At the same time, it is necessary to gradually widen the roll gap so that the amount of accumulated glue is kept within a suitable range. After all the powders have been mixed, dropping the cut residual glue,divided into two ends by the central cutter, and then slowly adding the liquid softener with rolling for 4-5 minutes. After all the mixing, cut the next roll and reduce the accumulation section. The purpose of the refining is to make the rubber mix evenly. The method of refining has the oblique knife method. (Eight knives Method) Bundling operation method, triangle packing method and silicone method (passing method), etc., and it is effective that eight knife methods are wound at a angle of 45°in the direction parallel to the axial direction of the roller about four times, refining for 3-4 minutes, after completing the refining, adjust the roller distance to 4-5 mm again, and then replenish 2-3 times with the cutting method, and parking the next piece. The temperature of the roller should be controlled at around 45°C. The entire mixing process is complete.
